hey, its been a while since my last post. bet u r now hungry for more tasteful photo's right? hahaha! ok, for those metalheads and rockers in KL, here's for u!
if u were looking for some chiken rice with a slightly different from others, with a little twist of secret ingedients kind ov taste, wander no more guys! come on and get geared up and charge forward to gombak now!
ok, onced u r already in ur freakin panzer, its time to charge forward alongside jalan gombak near Pasar Besar Gombak or Gombak Wet Market. straight away right along, u can simply see one simple restaurant on ur right. the signboard says, NASI AYAM MANCONGKAM. there.
ok, lets get straight away to the food then. the menu was very simple. just a simple chiken rice but with a simple choices. u an rather have the original regular fried chiken or crispy (?) chicken and both taste delicous! i would say, the most delicous part was the sauce. i think the sauce makes the chicken more irresistable.
hmmm, hence the chicken, the soup was also awesome. delivered hot and steamy, the tase was so delightful and yet, warm enough to be spared along with the nice fragranced and yellow coloured rice. i did noticed that Mancongkam did opened another branch of this restaurant in Shah Alam and the tastse was slightly the same. so, for PJrians and Subangians, cry no more. u ca simply dine in minutes away!
ok, im sure that u guys were asking about the price isnt it? yup, the price was A OK. with a single dish plus iced Tea, it is totally worthy for rm6.
hows that for a lunch?

crave for oyster and lala anyone??
horns up and hail!!!
feels good to be back here writing and mumbling about food instead ov talking about the new Behemoth's album that have been getting along with lame ideas. sadly to say but the newest album was really not my cup ov tea. it gets really overated.
while i was in KL last month, i did went food hunting with my friend Lani and Li Jean! what a company!! ahahahaha
ok, after a long wander around PJ and Subang for food, we decided to go to Damansara Up Town or now the deserted Damansara Utama. there used to be an Up Town here before they moved it to Kota Damansara couple ov years ago. what a waste. Republic Of Brickfields did wrote a song about it in a song called "UpTown". huhuhu.
ok, back to food, after arriving at Medan Selera Damansara Utama basically next to McDonalds Damansara Utama, we were welcomed with lots ov we decided to order the food from Bintang Henry, one of the many stalls around this medan selera. this time we ordered Lala Kam Hyung, Chicken Kam Hyung and Fried Oyster With Eggs.
after some funny and weird chat among us, the food came right to our table. the smell of sauces and gravy apart ov some garlic was definitely playing with us. i really cant resist to try it out. and it was awesome.
for those who dont know what is kam hyung, its actually a type ov cooking just like the paprik or masak pedas for malays. so, if it is lala kam hyung than it supposed to be lala masak pedas for malays. huhuhuhu. but the oyster is definitely fall into different category. it seems to me that chinese cuisine love to cook the oyster this way perhaps. it was fried with eggs and some corn flour and all mixed together to form like an omelette kinda stuff. (i dont know!) but its sure was awesome as well. hahahaha!
guess, it was cheap as well. for a small plates of those three delicacy, it is affordable. maybe around rm5-rm7 a small plate. and im pretty sure, with that kind ov price, ill be knocking for more next time around!!
hope u enjoy it Lani and Li Jean (thats her hand in the picture!)
coz i surely do!! :)

The Original Nasi Kak Wok @ Lundang
ive recieved a lot of request to actually review this delicacy. to Faiz Rahman, this one is for u.
downtown of kota bharu lies a wonderful pre-modernized village called kg. lundang. for the localites, they will for surely know what to expect in this sort of place. one thing only.
yes. its the well known-undefeated-classic-old-original-Nasi Kak Wok.
u might be asking why did i mentioned "the original". definitely because there are many Kak Wok copiers in town. some ov them will called them selves Ala Kak Wok or maybe just simply Nasi Kak Wok but as for us true metalheads, we despise bootlegs!!! hahahahaha!
ok, arriving to the place it self was a calm sight. situated in the heart of a village made them very enjoyable with a crowded houses along with trees and bushes. as a rural village would be. the first thing u'll be interest in is the long que. Nasi Kak Wok opens around 7:30am for breakfast till after lunch maybe around 3.00pm. if u came around breakfast and lunch hour, the place will be crowded and with long que to get the Nasi. i really recommend u guys to come between those two peak hours.
now that i got my dish already after the long waiting que, lets called it review time.
for those who cant really imagine how Nasi Kak Wok looks like, just imagine some nasi bungkus with fried chicken cutlets and a chicken dhalca curry as the gravy. yes, as simple as that.
i really cant imagine how on earth the dish is so irresistable and delicous. looking at the servings, it looks damn simple. i bet u can get more if u were at some nasi bungkus at kg baru or maybe some mamak. but the magic is there.
with only rm2 for a handful of magical dish as Nasi Kak Wok, with tears streaming down from my eye, i was totally blessed.
all hail Kak Wok. horns up always!

here we go Jalan Alor, Bukit Bintang!
metalheads, im sure u guys where this is. this is where some ov us hangout. im pretty sure that most ov our clans know and used to pump up some booze here god damn it!!!
ok, for those who dont know, Jalan Alor is basically on the north-west side ov bukit bintang. it is at the mere junction ov Changkat Bukit Bintang where all the clubs and pubs are located. if u walk downhill along Changkat, u'll have to make a right turn. u will see multiple or mabe lots of seafood restaurant along the way. with lots ov tables infront ov the restaurant, ull be greet by the waiters as u pass by those restaurants.
ok, just pick one. this time i choose MengKee Seafood Restaurant. ok, the fist thing they do once u r seated is handing u a photo album. its the menu!!! in photographic pictures! as i browse down those pictures, it looks marvelous except for the fried chili frog part! this time i ordered chili fried calamari and butter fried chicken with rice. after a while looking at some folks and hot chicks and most ov them just got out ov clubs or pubs at Changkat, then came the food.
th calamari was done perfectly. after trying one, i think its a little bit salty but the taste really blend well but the fried butter chicken was totally damn awesome. with butter crumbs (?) spread allover, it was a total highlight of the night. and im pretty sure if i ordered fried butter prawn, my life would be much more happier. the taste was so sweet. it blends in with the rice and once u taste it all together, its de ja vu people!
ok, with all of that plus apple juice, its not that pricey. the fried butter chicken+rice is about rm7 and the calamari in small plate is around rm8. so, i think u guys would come here again right after those clubs and pubs. i know i will. with chicks! hahaha!
anti-pesto @ williams
hail again with some marvelous cuisine for ur belly metalheads!!!!!
ok, after a tiring day ov gigging or maybe some practice in the studio or, ok, maybe after listening to some gruesome satanic and blasphemous death or black metal tunes, u'll probabbly end up with something meaty to resembles dead bodies that we have tortured and maybe some bloody filthy scum that always getting on our nerves.
its time to hop on your panzer and charge forward on to Williams!!!
ok, im pretty sure that some ov the PJ(ians?) or maybe KLites have already been to this place. yesss, u. i know u went there with ur girlfriends right? ok. for those who actually have no idea where williams is, it is situated in PJ/Damansara area. to be precise, it is situated in SS24 PJ or behind the SS24 primary school (?). its located just beside the old Lim Kok Wing building. got it? still didnt get it? go and ask your girlfriend and im pretty sure they used to go to williams with her previous boyfriends before u!!
ok, enufzz of that shit. williams is actually a small stall right under some hut. looking at the shop reminds me of some illegal mamak stall under some barn or maybe some coffee shops for those oldtimers at some rural village in Malaysia. but u'll be amazed with the crowds. it is mostly full house some of a time. and guys, i might ensure u with hot chicks alert. with lots of tables along side the road, it will amazed u with all the foods the crowds actually eating. ull be saying "owh, i want that," "ill be ordering that""whats that?" just to make a point.
there are lots ov specialities here in williams. some of them combines from local delicacies and also western and european style of cuisine. ok. this time i order something absolutely meaty.
i ordered anti-pesto (?) or premier chiken+beef+lamb. yes, its a combination ov those three i mentioned. when the food arrived, ill was smiling big. throw away ur diet plans. forget what ur doctors told u. this is real meat. and it cames with big huge plate. yes, it was meant for sharing but i dont care. i want it all!!! i cant event tell how delicious it was. its like a festival of meat. with some mashed potato with the gravy at the centre and some mint sauce, it is fullfilling.
ok then, ill just let the picture do the talking ok?
but then, came the billing time. i wont be telling the truth if i say the price is ok. but try to think ov any price that worth that kind ov fullfilling cuisine, yes, it is pricey. maybe like throwing away one imported metal CD or maybe one imported metal shirt if u know what i mean! by the way, it feels good to fill the tummy and RELAXING those eyes! hahahaha!

Gear Box for lunch?? are u kidding me??
horns up and mighty hails directly from my first post ov my newly food traveling themed blog. basically what ull be seeing here is bunch of my personal review ov foods ive tasted and also to all restaurants and dining area that i went from all over the world. i think u guys got the point right? hell yeahh!
ok then, lets cut to the chase. in the obscure area ov Kota Bharu (KB), most ov the people are actually aware for some ov exotic cuisine right here in KB. to the east area ov KB geographically near a place called Panji, lies a delightfull luncheon restaurant that is well known for its delicacy, Gear Box Soup.
for those who cant actually imagne how the gear box looks like, No, its not the real automobile gear box. it is basically some parts or joints of bone from a cow. basically the joints such as the pelvic (?) or maybe the knee area of the cow legs. well, from how they cut those kinda parts makes them looks like a gear box of a car (?). make any sense? watever.
ok. to order is not that difficult at all. its either u want some big ones or maybe a smaller one for only 2 person. i was quite supprised that the restaurants was actually crowded during lunch time and for such a remote and obscure area, that was interesting. and yes, everybody ordered the same thing. im supprised with the kit on the table. there's a small knife and a bunch ov straws. and im thinking this is going to be awesome.
then, came the food. i was definitely amazed by the looks and the soup was so steamy yet the aroma really stung my nose. ok, i exagurate it. but who cares. with a slice of a knife, i can see how tender the meat, joints and the fat cuts through. the taste was awesome...
i did noticed some of the newspaper cuttings at the wall ov the restaurant and i did overlooked one ov them. the bones and meat was boiled for 12 hours according to the newspaper cuttings. no wonder it was so tender. i'm also supprised that err... u remember when at home, if ur mom cooked some meaty soup and the fat would float and hardened it self from time to time? not this one tho. it stays cleaned. then came the special part of it. getting the fat from inside the bone. all u have to do is actually put some soup inside the bone, put the straw in and shake it for a while, then just drink it in. awesome.
it is not that pricey compared to foods in KL. for an interesting lunch, i think it is far more worthy. hows that for a start? wanna try? contact me :)
